Am 25. Mai 2020 wurde George Floyd in Minneapolis (USA) von einem Polizisten ermordet. Weltweit wurde um ihn getrauert und gegen Polizeigewalt und Rassismus protestiert. Trotzdem gibt es bis jetzt keine Konsequenzen oder Veränderungen die wirklich dafür sorgen, dass rassistische Polizeigewalt verhindert werden kann. Solche Veränderungen können nur erreicht werden, wenn wir uns dauerhaft einsetzen und dafür kämpfen. Antirassismus darf kein Trend sein!
Rassistische Polizeigewalt findet nicht nur in den USA statt, sondern überall und auch in Deutschland. Deutsche Polizist*innen wenden unverhältnismäßige Gewalt bei Festnahmen an. Menschen sterben währenddessen oder in Zusammenhang mit dieser Gewalt, wie etwa Giorgos Zantiotis oder vor zwei Wochen Ante P. in Mannheim. Sie verbrennen in Gefängniszellen und werden beschuldigt sich selber angezündet zu haben, ihre Namen sind Amed Ahmad (2018) und Oury Jalloh (2005). In allen Fällen fehlt es an Aufklärung und Täter*innen tragen kaum bis keine Konsequenzen, sie werden als „Einzelfälle“ bezeichnet.
Wir haben es satt! Kommt mit uns auf die Straße – die Demo startet am 4. Juni um 15 Uhr am Hbf Bielefeld. Direkt danach gibt es ab ca. 16:30 Uhr ein Kulturprogramm im Ravensberger Park.

On May 25 2020, George Floyd was murdered by a police officer in Minneapolis (USA). The world mourned his death and protested against police violence and racism. However, there are neither consequences nor changes that really ensure that racist police violence can be prevented. Such changes can only be achieved if we continuously commit to and fight for them. Antiracism should not be a trend!
Racist police violence does not only take place in the USA, rather everywhere including Germany. German police officers use disproportionate force when making arrests. People die during or in connection to their violence, such as Giorgos Zantiotis or Ante P. in Mannheim two weeks ago. They burn in prison cells and are accused of setting themselves on fire, much like Amed Ahmad (2018) and Oury Jalloh (2005). In all such cases, there is a lack of clarification and the perpetrators bear little to no consequences, these people are then referred to as „isolated incidents“.
We’re fed up! Take to the streets with us – the demonstration starts on June 4th at 15:00 at Bielefeld main station. Subsequently there will be a cultural program in Ravensberger Park starting ca. 16:30.
