Juni wurde ein 19- jähri ger\, migrantischer junger Erwachsener aus Herford von der Polizei in eine r Sackgasse in der Nachbarstadt mit 34 Schüssen beschossen. Sechs der 13 Polizist*innen vor Ort schossen. Mindestens sechs Mal wurde der 19- Jähri ge getroffen. Grund für diese Gewalt: Das Auto war ohne Licht unterwegs. Darauf folgt eine Verfolgungsjagd\, vermutlich weil der Fahrer ohne Führe rschein unterwegs war\, die in einer Sackgasse endete. Laut Polizei haben sie aus Notwehr geschossen\, da der 19- Jährige umgedreht und mit erhöht er Geschwindigkeit auf sie zugerast sei. Später\, im zweiten Polizeiberic ht\, ist nichts mehr von erhöhter Geschwindigkeit zu lesen. Keine*r der 1 3 Polizist*innen hatten ihre Bodycams eingeschaltet\, auch die Fahrzeugkam eras liefen angeblich nicht.\n\nGegen die Polizist*innen wird wegen Körpe rverletzung\, gegen den Betroffen wegen versuchten Mordes ermittelt. In ei ner Sondersitzung im Landtag besteht man auf die Unschuldsvermutung für d ie Polizist*innen - für den Angeschossenen hat sie nie gegolten.  Der Be troffene hat schon eine Vielzahl an OPs hinter sich &\; es stehen noch viele an. Gerade ist von einer Querschnittslähmung auszugehen.\n\nDies is t kein Einzelfall! Six of the 13 police off icers on the scene fired their guns. The 19-year-old was shot at least six times. The reason for this violence: the car was traveling without lights . This was followed by a chase\, presumably because the driver was driving without a license\, which ended in a dead-end street. According to the po lice\, they shot in self-defense because the 19-year-old turned around and sped towards them. Later\, in the second police report\, nothing more is to be read from increased speed. None of the 13 police officers had switch ed on their body cameras\, and the vehicle cameras were allegedly not runn ing either.\n\nThe police officers are being investigated for assault\, an d the person involved is being investigated for attempted murder. In a spe cial session in the state parliament\, the presumption of innocence is ins isted on for the police officers\, for the person shot it has never applie d.  The victim has already undergone a number of surgeries and still has many to go. For now\, it is to be assumed that the person will suffer from paraplegia.\n\nThis is not an isolated case! Not in Herford and also not beyond. This seems to be a case of racist and excessive police violence. In anger and sadness\, we call for a demonstration against racist police v iolence! Let's increase public pressure and come demonstrate with us on th e streets!\n\nMany unanswered questions remain. How could a traffic stop e nd with 34 shots being fired? Why is there no video footage even though th ere were so many police cameras on the scene?
