 cheint uns eine Selbstverständlichkeit. Manchmal erfüllt sie uns mit Unb
 ehagen\, aber wirklich in Frage stellen wir sie nicht. «Strafe ist die Wu
 rzel der Gewalt auf unserem Planeten»\, schreibt der Begründer der Gewal
 tfreien Kommunikation\, Marshall Rosenberg. Strafe ist ein Kern von Herrsc
 haft: sie bedarf Institutionen\, die sie ausführen\, und bedeutet\, dass 
 sich ein Individuum über das andere erhebt. Um einer friedlicheren und fr
 eieren Gesellschaft näher zu kommen\, ist daher die Abwicklung des Gefän
 gniswesens und die Infragestellung von Bestrafung notwendig. Wie aber kann
  es anders gehen? Welche Alternativen gibt es? Diese und andere Fragen run
 d um das Thema\, Strafe\, Gefängnis\, Alternativen werden uns an diesem A
 bend beschäftigen.\nDie Veranstaltung wird zweisprachig - deutsch und eng

 tter of course. Sometimes it fills us with discomfort\, yet we actually do
  not question it. "Punishment is the root of violence on our planet\," wri
 tten by Marshall Rosenberg\, the writer of Nonviolent Communication. Punis
 hment is a core of domination: it requires institutions that carry it out\
 , and means that one individual rises above the other. In order to come cl
 oser to a more peaceful and freer society\, it is therefore necessary to h
 andle the prison system and to question punishment. But how could things b
 e different? Which alternatives are there? These and other questions aroun
 d the subject\, punishment\, jail\, alternatives will occupy our minds in 
 this evening.\n\nThe event will be bilingual in German and English.
